The internet is basically made up of lots of computers that can communicate with one another. HTML makes sharing information possible between these computers. Once you've decided on your website name, you need to register it. Registering your domain name ensures that no one else can use that name, and also provides an address that people then use to visit your website.  The domain name registration is a recurring yearly fee of $10 per year. Now that you have your domain name registered, you need a hosting solution. In order for people to view your website, it needs to be stored on a server (web host), that will allow people to view the information on your site. How this works: When someone wants to visit your website, they type your name into their web browser. Their computer then finds out where your website is being stored, and retrieves the HTML from your web host.

Of course! Your site can be hosted by any web host. If you are unsatisfied with your current host, I can help get you transferred over. It's easy to do, and can be accomplished with little to no downtime.  If you choose to remain with your current host, there is no problem, except that the Feature Cart web stores can only be installed on a site that is hosted with us.

Now that you have your name registered, and have a place to park your web site, we can begin the design process. I offer not only the HTML design of your web site, but also the graphic design (logos and other images that convey your products and services). Since no two sites are alike, and needs vary from client to client, please fill out our form here to receive a quote. You will usually receive a response within 4 hours. We'll have further discussions to ensure that I understand your needs, and requirements.

We will then begin the initial design of your website and graphics. You will be presented with a first draft, from which you will provide any feedback, so that I can be sure that your design is headed in the right direction. It's your site, I want it to reflect your business the way YOU want it to! Throughout the process we will be in frequent communication about YOUR site.

While I handle the bulk of the effort in designing your web site, I will need information from you. You would be responsible for the text, product images, and any other information about your products and/or services. Most information can be passed via e-mail. If you have physical pictures you would like used on your site, you can mail them to me, and I can scan them for online use.

I can design a custom ecommerce system specifically for your business. I offer a couple levels of ecommerce systems. One is a simple, lower cost ordering cart system. Orders can be placed, and many payment forms are automatically accepted. There is no automatic inventory control, and if you need to add or edit products, I can provide that service for you at a reasonable fee, or you can handle it yourself if you have HTML knowledge. This is a good option for those who have a fairly static product line that doesn't require inventory control or frequent updates. The shopping cart is entirely HTML based.

For business that have a ever changing and fluid inventory, we offer a custom ASP database driven ecommerce solution, or web store. These online stores provide those with little to no HTML knowledge the ability to manage their products on their own. All the information required about your product is done by simply filling out online forms. There is no need to understand web programming to add, edit, or delete items. This option is great for small business with a low to medium volume of products and services. This store is available in the Business Hosting Package.
